Philadelphia

Philadelphia is a vibrant and walkable city, so visitors can easily explore its historic streets and eclectic neighborhoods. From the cobblestone pathways of Old City to the bustling thoroughfares of Center City, there's something new to discover around every corner. The city was home to Benjamin Franklin and its attractions include Independence National Historical Park, which houses Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Its diverse districts, from the art-filled corridors of Fishtown to the culinary haven of South Philly, include a kaleidoscope of cultures and cuisines. Drexel University's 74-acre campus is located at the heart of Philadelphia’s technology and research corridor, in the vibrant University City neighborhood.

If you are a fan of cheesesteaks, visit Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks in South Philadelphia. Legend has it that Pat's was the birthplace of the cheesesteak and now these two joints have a rivalry, each boasting the best cheesesteak. Quality competition is an important topic in industrial organization, so you may need to buy from both places and judge for yourself.

Philadelphia boasts a thriving arts scene, with galleries, theaters, and live music venues dotting its streets. As you explore the city, consider visiting the Rodin Museum and the Barnes Foundation. You can also visit the clothespin steel sculpture outside Philadelphia City Hall. Some have said that it looks like an embracing couple (and others say it just looks like a clothespin, so you can be the judge). Take a moment to appreciate the city's stunning skyline from the observation deck of One Liberty Place or enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Schuylkill River Trail.
